This morning Tennessee was 197 days from kicking off the 2012 season, now they are 196.

Today it was announced that the Tennessee vs. North Carolina State kickoff game has been moved to Friday night. The game is part of the Chick-Fil-A Kick Off Game Series. Tennessee was originally set to play the Wolf Pack on Saturday, but because of the addition of a Clemson vs. Auburn game to the series, the game has been moved to Friday.

Now on the weekend of September 1st, there will be not two, but four team fan bases in Atlanta, which will make for a mega weekend of College Football.

“We look forward to being a part of the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game weekend in Atlanta,” said Tennessee Athletics Director Dave Hart. “The exposure afforded our university and football program through our participation in this season-opening event is very significant.”

Tennessee – NC State is set to air on ESPNU (game time not determined).

“When we created the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game with ESPN, our goal was to kick off the season in a special and memorable way,” Gary Stoken, President of the Chick-Fil-A Bowl series. “With these two games, and these four teams and their fan bases, this is going to be a colossal weekend of football in Atlanta – like nothing you have ever seen before.”
