Branisel had committed to Cincinnati under Butch Jones. He decommitted when Jones took the Tennessee job. After being recruited by tight end coach Mark Elder (who came to Tennessee from Cincinnati) he committed to the Vols in early January. Branisel is a receiving tight end with good hands. He needs to add some weight to his frame too help in the blocking game. He held offers from Louisville, Nebraska and Missouri.
