Over the past few years Jon Gruden’s QB Camp on ESPN has become somewhat of a ritual before the NFL draft.

Former Tennessee Volunteer Tyler Bray will be one of 12 draft prospects featured on the program this year.

Gruden, an analyst on ESPN’s Monday Night Football, typically meets with quarterbacks that are entering the NFL draft. The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach meets with the young players at his office in Tampa Bay where they’ll review game film. Gruden typically grills the prospects with questions about play-calling, decision making, cadence, mechanics and anything else that happens to come up in conversation. Gruden and the prospect usually talk about what the player did well, didn’t do well and where they can improve.

This year Gruden will be meeting will several non-quarterbacks as well. Linebacker Manti Te’o, running back Marcus Lattimore and offensive lineman Luke Joeckel will all be among the 12 players meeting with the former coach.

Notable former players to appear on the Gruden’s QB Camp include:

  • Sam Bradford (2010)
  • Tim Tebow (2010)
  • Jake Locker (2011)
  • Cam Newton (2011)
  • Nick Foles (2012)
  • Robert Griffin III (2012)
  • Andrew Luck (2012)
  • Ryan Tannehill (2012)
  • Brandon Weeden (2012)
  • Russell Wilson (2012)

The meeting with Gruden will give Tyler Bray a good opportunity to dispel some of the preconceived notions that many have about him. Bray has been perceived as emotionally immature, due to some poor decision making on and off the field. He also has some obvious flaws in his mechanics, most notably his footwork. Bray has admitted that his footwork tended to get sloppy late in games at Tennessee.

Gruden doesn’t cut the young guys any slack. Watching how Bray interacts and responds to Gruden’s repeated requests of a play-call or an audible will be interesting to say the least.

Bray is one of the last players scheduled to meet with Gruden out of the 12. According to ESPNPR Bray will be meeting with Gruden during the first week of April. Bray’s meeting with Super Bowl winning coach will first air on April 19th at 5:30 pm est on ESPNU.

The series will be begin airing on March 26th. Manti Te’o will be the subject of the first edition.
