Zack Godley’s final college baseball game might have come one year ago, but when the Major League Baseball draft rolled around last summer, his phone didn’t ring.
To be accurate, it did ring, but not with the news — or the price — he wanted to hear.
So Godley returned to college, a rare, undrafted SEC ace, and set about pitching an even better season than the one before.
After a season of highs and lows, Holly Warlick rebounded and finished her first year as Lady Vols head coach strong.
“Not too many people get the opportunity to come back and coach where they played, come back to coach where they grew up,” says Holly Warlick.
With principle and passion, Holly’s not only carrying on Pat Summit’s legacy, but also her late father’s. Sports were a key part of Holly’s life growing up in West Knoxville. Whether it was track, softball or basketball, Holly’s father, Bill, was her mentor.

Tennessee outfielder Melissa Davin, who broke a hand May 4 at Missouri, will miss the rest of the postseason, Lady Vols softball co-head coach Ralph Weekly said Wednesday.
Two other regulars in the starting lineup — Madison Shipman and Kat Dodson — have been limited by knee injuries and won’t practice much this week, but should be able to play, Weekly said on the News Sentinel Sports Page radio show on The Sports Animal.
Tennessee junior Jarnell Stokes led USA Basketball’s U18 National Team to gold at last summer’s FIBA Americas Championship in Brazil. This summer, his nation is calling upon him once again.
One of the nation’s top returning collegiate big men, Stokes plans to take part in USA Basketball’s U19 training camp June 14-19 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. The complete list of training camp invitees has yet to be announced.
