Over the next week there will be a pre-season award watch list released everyday. That, combined with SEC media days coming up, means that college football season is (un)officially upon us!

Today the pre-season watch list for the Rimington Trophy was announced.

The Rimington Trophy has been awarded to the nation’s best center each year since 2000. The trophy is named for former Nebraska center Dave Rimington.

Tennessee center James Stone is among those on the pre-season watch list for the award.

Stone has also been named a pre-season All-SEC second team selection by Lindys Sports, Athlon Sports and Phil Steele.

The senior from Nashville, TN started all 12 games at center for the Vols in 2012.

James Stone will be looking to be the fifth Rimington Trophy winner from the SEC.

Alabama’s Barrett Jones took home the award in 2012.
