Ladies and gentlemen — it’s Football Time In Tennessee!

The Butch Jones era kicks off later today, when the Tennessee Volunteers take the field against the Austin Peay Governors.

The Vols will be seeking to become the eighth college football team to record 800 wins. With the win, Tennessee would become the second SEC team to reach 800 wins (Alabama being the first). That would be quite a memorable way for Butch Jones to get his first win as the Volunteers head coach.

Tennessee is 86-24-6 all-time in season openers. They’ve currently won four openers in a row, and 15 of their last 17.

Junior Justin Worley will start at quarterback for the Vols. Worley beat out redshirt freshman Nathan Peterman and true freshmen Joshua Dobbs and Riley Ferguson during fall camp for the starting duties.

Worley is the only QB on the roster with game experience at the college level.
