From The Miami Herald

"The difference in Tennessee’s defense this season has been the Volunteers making big plays instead of allowing them.Tennessee (2-0) has nine takeaways to match Tulane for the most among Football Bowl Subdivision teams. The Volunteers forced seven turnovers and scored two defensive touchdowns last week in a 52-20 victory over Western Kentucky. This represents a clear change for a defense that produced only 17 turnovers last season, when the Vols gave up the most points (35.7) and yards (471.4) per game of any Southeastern Conference team. But it shouldn’t come as a surprise. New Tennessee coach Butch Jones has made forcing turnovers a priority throughout his career."

From Fox News

"A pair of high-scoring, undefeated squads are set to square off on Saturday afternoon, as the second-ranked Oregon Ducks play host to the Tennessee Volunteers.Under the tutelage of first-year head coach Butch Jones, Tennessee’s season has gotten off to a soaring start. After dominating FCS foe Austin Peay in the opener with a 45-0 shutout, the Vols followed that up with an equally impressive 52-20 victory over a solid Western Kentucky team last Saturday. While excited about his team’s fast start, Jones knows that he must keep his team in check, especially as its schedule kicks into high gear by playing five ranked teams in the next six games."

From Bleacher Report

"The Oregon Ducks are set to host the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday with both teams looking to go 3-0. The Ducks are coming off a 59-10 blowout win at Virginia, while the Volunteers are coming off a 52-20 win over Western Kentucky. The Tennessee score looks like a blowout on the surface, but the Vols were the beneficiary of an almost unthinkable five turnovers on just six offensive plays during one stretch in the first half. The Vols were out gained by the Hilltoppers, won the turnover battle seven to one and committed just two penalties to the Hilltoppers’ eight."

"If you’re a college football fan, you’re probably a connoisseur of fight songs, and I must say that I really love “Mighty Oregon.”I might not love it by the end of the week, however, if Tennessee coach Butch Jones keeps playing it over and over again in practice.“The storm is coming,” Jones warned players in Tuesday’s session.
