Missouri 41 Georgia 26

What I said on Friday:

"Despite all the injuries, and despite the fact that I think Missouri is for real, I just can’t see Missouri knocking off Georgia in Athens. Georgia 30 Missouri 27"

Well, I predicted a close game and a Georgia win.

I was wrong — very wrong.

Missouri used opportunistic turnovers and a big second quarter to surge to a halftime lead.

Georgia would get within two and had a chance to tie the game in the fourth quarter, but missed the two point conversion.

It was all Missouri from there. The Bulldogs didn’t score again and the Tigers added two touchdowns to secure a 15 point victory.

The win for Missouri was overshadowed with bad news after the game. The Tigers lost starting quarterback James Franklin to a season-ending shoulder injury.

Freshman quarterback Maty Mauk is expected to be Missouri’s starter moving forward.

The Vols will play at Missouri later this season, on November 2.
