The Vol faithful travel well — very well.

It hasn’t taken Butch Jones long to figure that out.

That’s why it isn’t much of a stretch for Jones to say that Tennessee’s game at Bristol Motor Speedway against Virginia Tech in 2016 will be attended by fans wearing mostly orange.

Bristol is only slighty closer to Knoxville than Blacksburg (109 miles compared to 132 miles), yet Butch Jones believes the game will be a “home game” for the Vols.

"Jones: I know it will be a partisan Tennessee crowd at Bristol…..Its fitting that we will set the attendance record in Bristol, Tennessee. It will be a Tennessee home game."

Virginia Tech fans, a group also known for traveling well, may take offense at this statement from Jones, but they shouldn’t in any way.

Jones is simply praising the loyalty of Tennessee fans. Vol fans are known as some of the most passionate football fans in the world, so there’s no reason to believe they won’t cast an orange shadow over Bristol Motor Speedway in September, 2016.
