Tennessee Volunteers guard Jordan McRae was named the SEC’s player of the week on Monday.

The senior played exceptionally well in the Vols’ two games last week. McRae accumulated 45 points,  six rebounds, four assists and five blocks, while committing only three turnovers.

This is the first time that McRae has been named SEC player of the week. The Georgia native has been far and away the Vols best player so far this season,

McRae is averaging 21.5 points a game, while shooting 51% from the field. He’s made 45% of his three-point attempts.

He’ll look to keep it going on Thursday night when the Vols take on UTEP in the “Battle For Atlantis”, which will be played in the Bahamas.

The game starts at 9:30 PM ET and can been seen on the NBC Sports Network.
