The Tennessee Volunteers have won three games in a row, since losing their season opener to Xavier. They’ll be looking to extend that winning streak to four when they take on the UTEP Miners in the opening round of the “Battle For Atlantis”.
The Vols (3-1) have looked much better offensively in their past three games than they did in that season opening loss to Xavier. Senior guard Jordan McRae has been the undoubted leader of this team. McRae was named SEC player of the week this past week — the first time in his career he’s picked up the honor.
UTEP (3-2) is coming off a 77-68 loss to New Mexico State.
If the Vols win they could possibly play Xavier again, as they’ll play the winner of the Iowa-Xavier game
