Today On Rocky Top: What Does Josh Malone's Commitment Mean For Vols?

From Bleacher Report

Josh Malone wrapped up an extensive recruitment process Wednesday afternoon, committing to Tennessee during an announcement ceremony at Station Camp High School (Gallatin, Tenn.). The 4-star wide receiver prospect revealed his decision in front of a national audience on NBC Sports Network.

The 6’3″, 190-pound playmaker picked the Volunteers over fellow finalists Georgia, Florida State and Clemson. His other offers included Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Miami and UCLA.

Tennessee guard Ariel Massengale believes a rare stint on the bench this summer has helped her get off to a faster start.

Massengale adjusted to a backup role this summer while helping USA Basketball win a gold medal at the World University Games. Massengale said the experience gave her a new perspective when she returned to campus.

“I probably never had done it before in my career,” Massengale said. “It definitely helped me learn. It also gave me an easier way to relate to my teammates back here who may not get as much playing time, to let them know and assure them they’re just as important as the five people who are on the court.”

The Tennessee men’s basketball team found out paradise can be hazardous, but leading scorer Jordan McRae says there’s no reason to panic about the rest of the season.

“I don’t think it’s time to panic yet. We haven’t started off slow'” said McRae before Wednesday’s practice.

“We’re 5-2 now. We’ve got a lot of big games coming up. We have to take advantage of all the games in Thompson-Boling.”
