The Tennessee Volunteers led at halftime against the Wichita State, but they weren’t able to close the deal in the second half, falling 70-61.

Jordan McRae looked like the only guy who came to play for the Vols (6-3). McRae was the only Vol to score in double-figures, finishing with 26 points on 8-of-17 shooting. He also added three rebounds and two assists.

Jarnell Stokes was ineffective for most of the game due to foul trouble. Stokes finished with eight points and four rebounds.

Jeronne Maymon led the Vols in rebounds with nine boards. He also added nine points.

Tennessee led 44-41 with under 10 to play, after Stokes converted a three-point play.

Unfortunately for the Vols, it was all Wichita State (10-0) thereafter.

Tennessee will try to get back on track on Wednesday night when they take on NC State at Thompson-Boling arena.

The Wolfpack are 6-2 this season. They take on Detroit later this afternoon.
