It might only be January, but March Madness will be here before you know it.

Which means it’s never too early to keep tabs on the Tennessee Volunteers’ chances to make the NCAA tournament.

ESPN’s chief bracketologist Joe Lunardi currently has the Vols making the dance as an 11 seed in the EAST regional, which is a play-in game. Lunardi has Boise State as the team the Vols would be playing.

Tennessee is currently 8-4 and they look to be trending up after playing their best game of the season against Virginia.

The Vols beat the Cavaliers 87-52 their last time on the court, which was their biggest margin of victory this season. If Tennessee continues to play like they did against Virginia, then they’ll have no problem making the NCAA tournament.

If, however, they play like they did against NC State just two weeks ago, then they’ll likely be NIT bound once again.

The Vols are set to take on Tusculum on Saturday afternoon at Thompson Boling Arena. The game tips off at 2:00 PM ET.
