Class of 2014 LB commit Chris Weatherd is planning to make a return trip to Tennessee this Sunday. The country’s #1 JUCO LB has been itching to get back to Knoxville and is getting very excited to be on Rocky Top for good this summer. “It’s coming fast” Weatherd said about being able to enroll at UT.

Weatherd has mentioned he would like to make several trips to Knoxville in order to catch up on what he will miss during spring practice.

For athletes, the offseason is about getting better.  For Chris, he has been focusing on his footwork, saying “it helps with coverage”. Coverage skills at the LB position is a big area of need for the Vols, as they lost Dontavis Sapp and Brent Brewer from last season’s team.

The explosive pass rushing LB from Trinity Valley Community College will come in with a real chance to compete for a starting spot. He plans on wearing number 12 when he finally does suit up in orange.
