National Signing Day is approaching quickly and the Tennessee Volunteers just added another huge brick to their 2014 class.

Running back Derrell Scott committed to Tennessee on Monday afternoon, choosing the Vols over South Carolina and Florida.

Scott is a 5’11″/180 lb all-purpose back from Havelock, NC (Havelock). 247Sports rates him as a four-star recruit and the sixth best player in the state of North Carolina.

South Carolina was long rumored to be the favorite for Scott, but the Vols made up tremendous ground over the past couple of months to lock down his commitment.

Scott is a huge pick up for the Vols because of the loss of Marlin Lane after the 2014 season. Tennessee will greatly need the depth at running back that Scott will provide.
