The Tennessee Volunteers’ top remaining target, Adoree’ Jackson, will announce his college decision live on ESPN on February 5 (National Signing Day).

That announcement time translates to 2:05 ET

Jackson is a highly coveted five-star defensive back from Gardena, CA (Junipero Serra). He stands 5’9″ and weighs in at 182 lbs.

According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, he’s the top rated cornerback in the nation.

The Vols have made a strong run at Jackson (including a recent visit by UT head coach Butch Jones) and have managed to position themselves among the schools at the top of his list.

Tennessee will still have to beat out mega-recruiters USC, Florida, LSU and UCLA to get a commitment.

If the Vols were to pull off the shocker and somehow get a commitment from Jackson, it would be absolutely huge for Tennessee’s football program.

Not only would it be huge for the entire program, but it would just further the confidence that fans already have in Butch Jones.

As far as Jackson’s commitment goes, it’s a complete toss up. The Vols definitely aren’t favorites by any means, but they’re also not necessarily considered a long shot.

Tennessee is in this one until the end. I give the Vols a respectable 1-in-5 shot of landing Jackson on National Signing Day.
