Confidence is often mistaken for arrogance.

Regardless of how you view it, most would agree it’s necessary to be successful in football.

Offensive lineman Jack Jones, a four-star commit to the Vols’ 2015 class, is certainly not lacking in the confidence department.

On Monday, Rivals’ latest top 100 rankings were released and Jones came in at 91, behind 12 other offensive linemen.

Jones apparently didn’t agree with his placement and let Volquest’s Paul Fortenberry know it.

While you have to admire Jones’ confidence in his abilities, it’s a little silly to argue rankings.

Jack Jones Highlights

Recruiting rankings are a great way to gauge a player for fans, but in reality there’s very little that separates those in the top 100. It’s all subjective and rarely do any two people agree on exactly how a player should be rated.

Jones is a solid in-state (Murfreesboro,TN) prospect and one the Vols should be thrilled to have received a commitment from so early in the process. Hopefully for Tennessee he’ll back up his claims and be one of the top offensive linemen in the nation during his time on Rocky Top.
