According to Evan Woodbery, who covers Tennessee for the Knoxville News Sentinel, charges against two of the players arrested on February 9 will be dropped, assuming they meet certain conditions.

Former Vol linebacker Dontavis Sapp and current defensive tackle Danny O’Brien will have six months to meet certain requirements, at which point the charges against them will be dropped. Their next hearing will be on August 14.

This is according to a report from Go Vols Xtra.

Woodbery also reports that senior linebacker A.J. Johnson is due in court on Friday and a similar resolution could be put in place for him as well.

The whole ordeal was relatively minor and ended up being sensationalized by TMZ.

While I’m sure it was dealt with fiercely and swiftly behind closed doors, this is not something that will haunt the Vols all season like previous incidents have.
