Tennessee Football: Vols Lead For CB Darrell Miller

facebooktwitterreddit

2015 three-star cornerback Darrell Miller released his top five schools last week and the Tennessee Volunteers were at the top of his list.

The Vols offered Miller, who is from Cedar Hill, TX (Cedar Hill), back in April.

Miller is rated by 247Sports as the 91st best player in the state of Texas and the 60th best cornerback in the nation.

The 5’10″/175 lb defensive back doesn’t have the impressive rating that most casual fans are looking for, but he’s obviously what the coaching staff is looking for.

We say it constantly, but it’s necessary to keep saying it — don’t get caught up in the ratings. They can be a good tool for the casual fan to evaluate the recruits, but they are far from the only thing that should be used.

History tells us that high school ratings have very little correlation to future success.
