From The Tennessean

"Tennessee’s Vols recently won a recruiting tug-of-war with Alabama for quarterback Quinten Dormady. For UT, that’s the good news. The bad news: Dormady is entering his senior season at Boerne (Texas) High. He’s a member of the recruiting Class of 2015 and as such will not be on the UT campus this fall. That means the Vols will continue to plug along this season with Justin Worley, Josh Dobbs and Nathan Peterman. The fact that none of the three was able to secure the starting spot in spring practice tells us this remains a position of need."

From ESPN

"Pat Summitt will remain the Tennessee women’s basketball head coach emeritus next season and can continue holding the position as long as she wants it.That’s according to a new contract signed in May and obtained Thursday night through a public records request. It states that Summitt will have the title head coach emeritus “in perpetuity, or until she chooses to relinquish it.”Summitt will make $75,000 under terms of the contract, which runs through April 30. She had been paid $85,000 last year.Summitt has served as head coach emeritus since ending her 38-season tenure as the Lady Vols’ coach in April 2012. That came one year after announcing she had early-onset dementia, Alzheimer’s type."

From The Tennessean

"Tennessee senior Josh Richardson and incoming freshman Detrick Mostella dominated Wednesday’s Pilot Rocky Top League final in a climax of strong showings from both players over the summer.Mostella scored 48 points while Richardson had 46, but Richardson’s Campus Lights team got the better of Mostella’s Rice Buick GMC squad 131-130.Richardson showed off a solid jumper and the ability to create his own shot. Mostella displayed what teammates have described as “elite athleticism,” and deep range on his shot. But while the annual league gave Vols fans a chance to admire Richardson’s growth and Mostella’s potential, it also left some questions."
