The Vols added two bricks today, one for 2016 and one for 2015. Saturday morning, 4-star offensive tackle Ryan Johnson committed to the Vols for the 2016 recruiting class. Later on in the day, 3-star cornerback Darrell Miller chose to play for the Vols and joined the 2015 class.

Miller is a 3-star corner out of Cedar Hill, Texas who held offers from 15 other schools besides Tennessee. He had most recently received offers from Wisconsin, Iowa State, Michigan State, Iowa, and Ohio State.

Here are some of his high school highlights:

Despite being just a 3-star prospect, Miller has impressed scouts and was starting to receive attention from some top tier schools. He was moving up the recruiting rankings as well.

At 5-10, 175 lbs, Miller has decent size and is a very good tackler at the corner position, registering 39 tackles, 5 pass breakups, a quarterback hurry, and a forced fumble as a junior in high school (according to Max Preps).

On June 22nd, Miller named the Vols as his leader, followed by Boise State, Ohio State, Iowa, and Michigan State. Ultimately, he chose the Vols and will give them their 1st cornerback commitment in the 2015 class and their 21st total commitment.

Miller was on campus Saturday as a part of Tennessee’s second “Orange Carpet Weekend” of the summer. The Vols had other top targets and current commitments on campus, so expect more good news in the following days and weeks.
