Vols Recruiting: Five-Star DT Edwin Alexander Offered By Tennessee
By Zach Ragan
Five-star 2016 defensive tackle Edwin Alexander was offered by the Tennessee Volunteers on Wednesday.
Alexander, 6’2″/310 lbs from Hammond, LA (St. Thomas Aquinas), is rated by 247Sports as the top 2016 player in the state of Louisiana and the third overall 2016 defensive tackle in the nation.
He has offers from Florida, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Texas A&M. Offers should continue to pile up for the Louisiana native.

Alexander originally committed to LSU on November 23, but then decommitted on April 24.
I still think Alexander ends up at LSU and so do all eight of the 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions that have been made so far.
It’s extremely hard to pull recruits, especially five-star recruits, out of the state of Louisiana. Butch Jones has done some impressive things during his short tenure in Knoxville, but even this might be a stretch for the ever popular coach.
If, however, the Vols were somehow able to land Alexander, it would give them the best defensive tackle duo (along with 2015 commit Kahlil McKenzie) in the nation.
And it wouldn’t even be close.
But like I said, it’s a longshot that UT lands Alexander, but there’s always a chance in recruiting.
Sometimes a chance is all you need.
