Colin Cowherd Says Vols Will Beat Alabama

If ESPN’s Colin Cowherd was trying to get Alabama fans in a tizzy on a slow Tuesday afternoon, he accomplished it by laying out a very bold prediction on the Paul Finebaum show.

I’m not sure if Cowherd is talking about October 25, 2014 or some date in the distant future, but there’s no way Tennessee is beating Alabama this season.

Sure, Tennessee has improved the roster tremendously in the past two recruiting cycles. The team now has some SEC caliber speed and future stars at the skill positions, but let’s be realistic here folks — it’s not happening.

The Vols are still very young and they’re breaking in a very inexperienced offensive line.

Those aren’t characteristics of a team that upsets the Crimson Tide.

Tennessee’s day will come soon enough. I have no doubt they will beat Bama in the next 3-5 years, but it won’t be in 2014.
