Former Tennessee Volunteers kicker/punter Michael Palardy was waived by the Oakland Raiders on Thursday.

Palardy was placed on the NFI (non-football injury) list, after undergoing an appendectomy.
It’s a tough break for the former Vol, who was having a solid camp with the Raiders.
Hopefully Palardy will have a quick recovery and will be able to latch on to a team before the season starts.
He was one of the top punters in the SEC last season (third in the conference in average) and definitely has the talent to be playing on Sundays.
Palardy originally tried out with the New York Jets, before signing with the Raiders on June 5.
