Rajion Neal Scores In Pre-Season Debut
By Zach Ragan
Former Tennessee Volunteers running back Rajion Neal made his Green Bay Packers debut on Saturday night and he made the most of it.
Neal carried the ball five times for 39 yards, including a 12 yard touchdown run in the third quarter.
The former Vol has had a solid camp and looks to be in a good position to make the 53-man roster, especially with the loss of fellow running back James Franklin.
Neal did, however, have to leave the game Saturday with an injury to his left leg.
Head coach Mike McCarthy noted the injury after the game, but didn’t elaborate on the severity.
If it’s nothing major, and hopefully it isn’t, then Neal probably guaranteed himself a roster spot with his performance.
If this is an injury that’s going to keep him out a while, then it could be of serious consequence for Neal.
Teams generally don’t keep injured undrafted free agents around. It’s unfortunate, but that’s how it goes in the NFL.
We’ll update you on Neal when the Packers update his status.
