Tyler Bray To See More Playing Time In 3rd Pre-Season Game

Fans of Tyler Bray that tuned into Sunday night’s nationally televised matchup between the Carolina Panthers and the Kansas City Chiefs were quite disappointed.

That’s because Bray didn’t see any action in the game.

Andy Reid inserted incumbent backup Chase Daniel into the game after starter Alex Smith was done.

Daniel saw just one series before rookie Aaron Murray came into the game and took the rest of the snaps.

The previous week saw former Vol Tyler Bray receiving all of the third-team snaps, while Murray never got into the game.

And while you might think Sunday night’s game is indicative of the current depth chart, that’s not necessarily the case.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said following the game that Bray would see more time in Kansas City’s third pre-season game, while Murray would see less time.

The Chiefs are currently in the process of having to make some decisions and they’re likely trying to figure if they’re going to keep four quarterbacks or if they’re going to cut one of their backups.

It would make the most sense for Kansas City to say bye-bye to Chase Daniel and his exuberant contract.

More from Vols In The Pros

Tyler Bray has the most raw talent on the team and Aaron Murray is a proven winner.

With the right coaching, Bray could turn into a future starter, while Murray would be a solid guy to have in a pinch.

I don’t think you can really gather any information from the order the quarterbacks have played so far. We probably won’t know what decision the Chiefs will make until the final cuts of pre-season.

If one of these quarterbacks does end up getting cut, they will almost certainly land with another team.
