John Henderson To Return To Neyland Stadium

On Sunday night, Neyland Stadium will say hello to an old friend.
Tennessee announced on Friday that former Vols defensive tackle John Henderson will be honored as a “legend of the game” at UT’s opener against Utah State.
According to a release from the school, it will be the first time Henderson has been back to Neyland since his final collegiate game in 2001.

Henderson played at Tennessee from 1999-2001. He started in 30 games over the course of three seasons.
In 2000, Henderson compiled 12.5 sacks, nine tackles for loss, and 71 total tackles.
Henderson was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the ninth overall selection of the 2002 NFL Draft. The former Vol spent ten seasons in the NFL (eight with Jacksonville and two with the Oakland Raiders) and accumulated 29 sacks and 493 tackles in his career. Henderson was named to two Pro-Bowls (2004 and 2006.
Since Butch Jones’ arrival, former Vols have been celebrated in a big way. That’s something that didn’t happen under previous coaching staffs and it’s throwback to the foundation of Tennessee football.
