Drew Richmond Chooses Ole Miss Over Vols

The Vols missed out on one of their big 2015 targets on Tuesday as Drew Richmond committed to Ole Miss.
Richmond is a four-star offensive tackle from Memphis, TN (Memphis University School). He is rated as the top player in the state of Tennessee and the seventh best offensive tackle in the nation, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
The Memphis native also has offers from Alabama, Auburn and Ohio State, among many others.
This is a big loss for the Vols, but not a surprising one or one that will seriously hamper Tennessee. One player doesn’t make a class and Richmond is no different. Of course the Vols wanted him, but they’ll now have to regroup and look in another direction.
Oxford is only a short drive from Memphis. The distance between Knoxville and Memphis was definitely a big factor in this one.
Nothing is final until Richmond signs his name on National Signing Day, but I’d be surprised if he doesn’t stick with Ole Miss.
