The Tennessee Volunteers have a week off before they head to Athens, GA to take on the Georgia Bulldogs.

On Monday, the SEC announced a 12:00 PM ET kickoff time for the Vols’ game against Georgia on September 27. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.

Tennessee leads the all-time series against Georgia 21-20-2.

However, the Vols haven’t beat the Bulldogs since a 45-19 win in 2009 in Knoxville.

The Vols came very close to victory the past two seasons. Tennessee lost a shootout in 2012 by a final score of 51-44.

Last season, UT took the Bulldogs to overtime, but a costly goal line fumble by Pig Howard was all Georgia needed to secure victory.

Tennessee and Georgia are both coming off their first losses of the season. The Vols suffered a tough loss to Oklahoma, while Georgia showed some chinks in the armor in a loss to South Carolina this past weekend. The Bulldogs’ defense might not be a strong as we thought it was after a season-opening win over Clemson.

Georgia has a chance to get back on track in week four against Troy, while Tennessee has the week off to recover from their trip to Norman, OK.
