Former Tennessee Volunteers running back Jamal Lewis is one of 99 players that made the 2015 NFL Hall of Fame ballot.

Lewis had one of the finest football careers that one could ever hope for.

First off, Lewis was part of the Vols’ 1998 BCS championship team (he didn’t get to play in the title game due to injury). After three seasons on Rocky Top he was drafted with the fifth overall selection by the Baltimore Ravens.

Lewis immediately made an impact for the Ravens, rushing for over 1,300 yards, while helping the team to a win in Super Bowl XXXV.

Not only did Lewis get to experience championships, but he also had one of the finest single seasons for a running back ever. In 2003, Lewis rushed for 2,066 yards — the third best total in NFL history.

During that same season, Lewis set the record for rushing yards in a game with 295 against the Cleveland Browns. That record has since been broken by Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson (296).

Jamal Lewis retired after the 2009 season. He rushed for 10,607 yards in his NFL career.
