Cordarrelle Patterson Finds Himself On Injury Report

There aren’t many things that can slow down Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson.

A certain Sports Illustrated writer even hypothesized that only the Vikings’ offensive coaches could stop the former Vol.

That certainly seems to be the case, as the Vikings failed to get Patterson the ball in creative ways last week during Minnesota’s loss to the New England Patriots.

The Vikings were without running back Adrian Peterson, which seemingly opened the door for a big game from Patterson. But that wasn’t the case.

Patterson, who’s caught seven passes for 82 yards over the first two games of the season, showed what he could do carrying the ball out of the backfield in Minnesota’s season opener. The South Carolina native carried the the ball three times for 102 yards and a touchdown in a win against the St. Louis Rams.

The Vikings have to find a way to get Patterson the ball more. There aren’t many players in the NFL that are more lethal with the ball in the open field.

But before they do that, they have to make sure he’s healthy for the team’s matchup in week three against the New Orleans Saints.

Patterson was added to the injury report on Thursday with a “chest” issue. He was limited in practice.

A chest issue is a pretty broad designation. I would expect Patterson to be a full go on Sunday, but it’s worth noting that he seems to be less than 100%.

Patterson’s status should be updated on Friday.
