Tennessee football injuries, Nigel Warrior, and golf headline the Volunteers news on Rocky Top for Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016.

It’s hump day, and we’re almost back into the football swing on Rocky Top. The Vols continue to come back from a much-needed bye week, and roster analysis is still a big part of our news.

Injury reports headline most of the news considering how banged up the Vols were the last time they took the field. That’s leaving fans very curious about the prospects the rest of the year.

Meanwhile, the landscape of the rest of the college football world is news in Knoxville now in order to determine just where the Vols will be standing at the end of the year.

All of this is huge news as Butch Jones gets his team ready to get back out on the field. We also have a couple of other updates to bring you.

But first, we start with the roster.

Vols’ injury outlook much brighter – Rhiannon Potkey of the Knoxville News Sentinel

"After weeks of mostly discouraging reports, Tennessee is finally receiving some encouraging news on the injury front.Several players are scheduled to return to the lineup on Saturday against South Carolina, and junior running back Alvin Kamara and senior defensive back Cam Sutton are likely to return at some point this season."

Todd Kelly Jr. says Nigel Warrior still working to learn scheme – Ryan Callahan of 247Sports

"Nigel Warrior might be a true freshman, but he already has shown coaches and teammates that he’s one of the most talented players in Tennessee’s secondary. He just hasn’t made much of an impact on the field to this point.Starting junior safety Todd Kelly Jr. said Tuesday that Warrior, a former top-100 prospect who’s the son of former Vols star Dale Carter, is “one of the most athletic guys” on Tennessee’s roster, but he’s still working to “learn the scheme and tactics.”"

Vols golf finishes third at Maryb S. Kauth Invitational – UTSports

"Led by senior Hannah Pietila’s third-place performance, the 23rd-ranked Tennessee Vol golf team defeated five ranked opponents en route to a third-place finish at the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational on Tuesday at the Briggs Ranch Golf Course.“This was a good golf tournament to end the fall,” said Head Coach Judi Pavon. “We have some players out with injury and we did a good job holding our own. We had four players finish in the top-20 which is a great way to wrap up.”"
