The Arkansas Razorbacks dominated against Florida 31-10. With the victory over UF, the Hogs gave the Tennessee Volunteers new life.

Tennessee football has new life! And it’s all thanks to the Arkansas Razorbacks, who dominated the Florida Gators 31-10 on Saturday in Fayetteville.

With the win, the Razorbacks gave the Gators their second SEC loss of the year, moving Tennessee up to one game behind Florida in the SEC East race.

Florida still has to play a resurgent South Carolina team and travel to Baton Rouge to face the LSU Tigers.

And given how they looked on Saturday, both games could be losses. After all, their only touchdown was a pick-six against the Razorbacks.

Otherwise, they had three points and ran fewer than five plays in Arkansas territory. So the offense looks atrocious behind Luke Del Rio, and South Carolina and LSU both have great defenses.

Meanwhile, the Vols have the Kentucky Wildcats, Missouri Tigers, and Vanderbilt Commodores to close out the year.

None of those games are guarantees given what happened to Tennessee against South Carolina. But all of them are winnable.

So all of a sudden, after Tennessee football was dead in the water last week and everybody wanted to fire Butch Jones, they are now in a November race to win the SEC East and get to Atlanta.

Wasn’t that the Vols’ goal at the start of the season anyway?

Getting to 10 wins, winning the East, and technically even winning the SEC Championship are still all strong possibilities,

As a result, there is no reason to believe this season is a wash.

So Butch Jones was clearly onto something when he said there’s a lot of football left to play.

The Arkansas Razorbacks’ win over Florida proved it on Saturday. Now, Vols fans can continue to be excited about what’s coming up next.
