The Tennessee Lady Vols travel to Auburn to face the Tigers Thursday night. Here is the official preview for the Women’s basketball Volunteers.

After a huge win over the No. 6 ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish Monday night, the Tennessee Lady Vols return to conference play and are back on the road Thursday night for another tough battle.

At 11-6 overall and 2-2 in the SEC, the Lady Vols will face the Auburn Tigers, who are 13-5 overall and 3-1 in the SEC.

With the No. 3 ranked strength of schedule in the country and now three wins against Top 25 teams, Holly Warlick’s group looks a lot better than its 11-6 record indicates.

The RPI has taken note of that, as the Lady Vols are No. 15 there.

Auburn, however, is no easy pushover. This is another very difficult match-up for Tennessee. After all, they have the No. 16 ranked strength of schedule and are No. 20 overall in the RPI.

So this game could truly go either way, and it is likely a match-up to see who will enter the Top 25 next week.

Here is the information you need for the game.

Tennessee Volunteers at Auburn Tigers

When: Thursday, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m.

Where: Auburn Arena; Auburn, Ala.

Before the Notre Dame game, the Lady Vols were on a two-game losing streak, which had followed a six-game winning streak.

With a thin bench, the key determinant in recent weeks has been whether or not Warlick would go eight-deep or seven-deep. She’ll need to try to go eight-deep again with their visit to Auburn if they want to win.

The Tigers are coming off wins over the Ole Miss Rebels and the Vanderbilt Commodores.

Meanwhile, following this game, the Lady Vols face Vanderbilt and then travel to Florida. Because those are the two worst teams in the SEC, a win tonight could send them off on a four-game losing streak before they travel to Columbia for a huge game against the No. 5 ranked South Carolina Gamecocks.

But it all has to start with a win at Auburn tonight.
