Tennessee Vols victories in basketball, baseball, tennis, and softball along with football recruiting lead the Volunteers news for Monday, Feb. 20, 2017.

To quote President Trump, the Tennessee Vols did so much winning over the weekend. But the fans likely never got sick of it.

Across five different sports, Rocky Top experienced some big wins over the weekend.

And in the most important sport on campus, they also had a pretty huge win. So this was a great weekend all the way around for the program.

As we get set to bring you the news on Rocky Top, the recap of those wins are the stories of the day. But there is also some football news to get to regarding recruiting.

We’ll start with that.

Butch Jones and staff a hit at ‘Junior Day’ this past Saturday – Mike Griffith, SEC Sports

While the other sports teams on Rocky Top were winning in every way, the football program was gearing up for next year’s recruiting class. Butch Jones and the Tennessee Vols were a huge hit at their annual ‘Junior Day’ over the weekend, as they continue their focus in securing an elite class.

"Tennessee coach Butch Jones and the updated Vols’ staff were an immediate hit at Saturday’s annual “Junior Day,” judging from the response of the prospects on campus.Tennessee commits Cade Mays and Alontae Taylor, two of the cornerstones of the 2018 signing class, expressed great enthusiasm after Saturday’s meetings and events in the Vols’ football building."

Baseball Vols take weekend series vs Memphis Tigers – Grant Ramey, GoVols247

In their first series of the 2017 baseball season, the Tennessee Vols took two of three from the Memphis Tigers in Memphis to open the season 2-1.

"Tennessee baseball used a seven-run second inning, allowed just two hits and used six shutout innings from starting pitcher Will Neely in a 10-0 win over Memphis Sunday at FedEx Park in Memphis, helping the Vols win the weekend series.Benito Santiago, Andre Lipcius and Dom Thornton each had two RBI in the win and Neely gave up just one hit and struck out two over his six innings of work."

Tennessee softball remains undefeated – UTSports

The Tennessee Vols won five games over the weekend to move to 9-0 in softball, finishing out their play with a dominant Sunday win in the Troy Cox Classic, which they close out tonight against the New Mexico State Aggies.

"Caylan Arnold threw a complete-game shutout and Taylor Rowland drove in four runs as No. 15/14 Tennessee blew past RV/RV Oregon State, 14-0 (5), on Sunday afternoon at the Troy Cox Classic."

Lady Vols beat Arkansas – Dan Fleser, Knoxville News Sentinel

After losing their last two games, the Tennessee Lady Vols got back on track with a win over the Arkansas Razorbacks Sunday to improve the team to 17-10 overall and 8-6 in the SEC.

"Foul-prone Jaime Nared and Tennessee’s shaky 3-point shooting came to the scoring rescue for the Lady Vols on Sunday afternoon.The uncommon combination helped crack open a close game and send Tennessee to a 59-46 SEC women’s basketball victory over Arkansas."

Men’s basketball dominates Missouri – Steve Megargee, AP

Rick Barnes’s team ended its two game losing streak with a dominant blowout victory over the Missouri Tigers Saturday. The win likely didn’t do anything to help the team’s NCAA Tournament chances, but it at least kept them above water.

"Grant Williams scored 25 points and Robert Hubbs III added 21 on Saturday as Tennessee breezed to a 90-70 victory over Missouri.Tennessee (15-12, 7-7 SEC) won for just the second time in its last five games. Missouri (7-19, 2-12) has dropped two straight since a three-game stretch in which it earned its first two SEC wins of the season."

Vols tennis complete Senior Day Sweep – UTSports

"The Tennessee women’s tennis team’s hot streak continued on Sunday, as the Vols swept Belmont and Lipscomb on Senior Day at Goodfriend Tennis Center."
