Tennessee football commitment Alontae Taylor is a four-star athlete for 2018 on Rivals, and he says he remains ‘100 percent’ committed to the Volunteers.

Alontae Taylor is a Top 10 in-state prospect and has been committed to Tennessee football since last summer. However, the staff changes opened up his recruiting a bit.

Vols fans everywhere received good news from him on Tuesday, however. He re-affirmed his top choice. According to Cody Pace of SEC Country, Taylor is still ‘100 percent’ committed to the Vols as of right now.

Here’s the quote Taylor gave SEC Country.

"“I’d say 100 percent, to be honest with you,” Taylor told SEC Country of his commitment status with the Vols after his visit. “With those schools like Georgia and South Carolina and Alabama and LSU, it’s not going to just take me to come up there and visit and then get a good vibe from it and flip me. I’ve built a really great relationship. I understand coach Z and all of them are gone, but just with the university itself, I have a really good relationship there.”"

The four-star athlete on Rivals is one of two Tennessee football commitments so far for the 2018 class. Five-star offensive lineman Cade Mays is the other commitment.

It was understandable that Taylor would open up his recruiting after the staff changes.

After all Willie Martinez recruited him, and as an athlete he would’ve either played for Martinez or Zach Azzanni.

However, after both left, there was reason to be nervous.

Then he met with the new coaches, though. And while he has looked at other schools, he has not wavered on his commitment to Tennessee.

It looks like Taylor is committing more to the program than any particular coach. That seems especially true given how early he committed to the program.

And it’s a great sign for him and Tennessee football.
