Tennessee football’s Orange and White game weekend included three commitments for Volunteers recruiting: a quarterback, receiver and four-star running back.

Tennessee football fans didn’t just get a glimpse of the team they might see in the Fall over the weekend. They also enjoyed a trio of commitments that should be very helpful to the Vols long-term.

The 2018 recruiting class is now up to seven commitments.

Butch Jones first secured a commitment from Florida running back Jashaun Corbin. A four-star out of Holy Trinity High School in Melbourne, Fla., Corbin committed on Friday.

He tweeted out his support for the program that evening.

At 6’1″ 186 pounds, Corbin is another Alvin Kamara type of player who could be an incredibly speedy weapon.

His arrival in 2018 comes in just in time as John Kelly’s years run out and Ty Chandler develops.

After Corbin’s commitment, Tennessee football received a commitment from a quarterback on Saturday.

That quarterback is Michael Penix Jr., a three-star out of the Tampa Bay area. Two straight commitments out of Florida show that the pipeline Butch Jones is building there could finally be paying off.

Penix announced his commitment on Twitter Saturday night.

Standing at 6’2″ 177 pounds, Penix could still do some growing. However, he is unique in that he is a left-handed pro-style quarterback.

He is the No. 12 ranked quarterback in the country as well, so he could thrive in the right system.

Getting a four-star all-purpose back and a quarterback would have been enough for the class. But Jones wasn’t done after that.

On Sunday, Georgia wide receiver Jatavious Harris committed to the Vols as well.

Ryan Callahan reported that commitment Sunday on GoVols247.

A three-star on Rivals, Harris stands at 6’3″ 184 pounds, so he has the right size. He comes out of Baldwin High School in Milledgeville, Ga.

With the three commitments, Tennessee football is likely to move up in the Rivals rankings this week.

Jones now doesn’t have to worry too much about a quarterback for this class, he added two more skill players, and he got his third guy that is either a four-star or five-star.

So this is a solid start to the recruiting season so far.
