Tennessee football picked up its second 2018 Georgia running back in two days as three-star Anthony Grant committed to the Volunteers.

After Saturday, it was clear that Butch Jones had already established depth at the running back position for Tennessee football with the commitment of Lyn-J Dixon.

But he only added to that on Sunday.

Chad Simmons of Rivals first reported the news on Twitter that Grant committed to the Vols.

A three-star overall on Rivals, Grant ranks one spot higher than fellow Tennessee football commit Dixon in terms of all-purpose backs across the country.

Out of Buford High School in Buford, Ga., he is ranked No. 51 in the state.

At 5’11” 180 pounds, Grant has a very similar size to Grant as well. In fact, the two are almost identical types of players.

Here’s a look at his highlight reel.

The highlights show where Grant is different from Dixon. Dixon relied more on his vision and cutting ability.

Grant is more of a straight-line runner who has amazing breakaway speed. However, how well he can read blocks at the college level is up in the air.

And he has a tendency to slow down and relax at the end of a play, which isn’t the best trait.

But his overall speed and talent are still pretty impressive.

Grant and Dixon could definitely be by-committee backs who bring different feels to the game, even if they are almost the same size.

Simply put, this is a huge get for Butch Jones and Co. Now, the Vols have 14 commitments for their 2018 class, and their Top 10 ranking should only get better.

More importantly, Butch Jones has alleviated any and all concerns about running back depth in the future.
