Jordan Bone made his NBA debut on Monday night in the NBA Summer League. He was up and down but should settle in fairly soon.

Finally, Jordan Bone made his NBA debut, well NBA Summer League debut on Monday night. The NBA has a problem with the way their trades work and when free agency falls causing Bone to sit out the first two games of the Pistons Summer League run.

Bone was the No. 57 pick that went through three other teams before landing with Detroit. He signed a two-way deal meaning he will spend most of next season in the NBA G League with the opportunity to play in the NBA.

On Monday against the Indiana Pacers, Bone played a total of 16 minutes in the 102-84 win. On just 2-for-7 from the floor, including 0-for-2 from the three-point line. Bone scored six points and pulled down four rebounds.

The rookie point guard also added two assists with one steal. Bone finished the game with three turnovers, which is surprising for the past SEC leader in assists. The game marked the sixth time the past two seasons that Bone finished a game with more turnovers than assists.

You can chalk that up to the layoff of the contract not being ready in time of the opening game of the Summer League. However, it wasn’t all bad. Bone showed great speed and hustled after a horrible turnover. Instead of putting his head down, Bone hustled to get the ball back and made an outstanding play to get a basket.

After the game, Bone said. “It was tough trying to get my rhythm back, my win back. I’m just so happy to be out here.”

Taking everything into consideration, Bone played a pretty good game. Moving forward, he should get more comfortable with the speed of the game and will find the rhythm of the offense.
