Heading into the bye week, Tennessee football’s value as a program is on the rise. Here is our stock report on different aspects of the Volunteers.

Are they cashing in on easier opponents, or is Tennessee football truly turning into a good team? Well, after a 17-13 win over the Kentucky Wildcats to get to 5-5, the Vols are indisputably better than the team that started the season 0-2 with back to back home losses to Group of Five programs. And it’s not even close.

As they now head into the week off, the program that has consistently been on the rise has to make sure it hasn’t peaked. After all, Jeremy Pruitt’s second team has won four games in five weeks and three straight.

But those wins are against three SEC teams with losing records and one Group of Five team that, despite now being 6-3, hasn’t yet beaten anybody with a winning record. So Tennessee football still has a few things to prove.

Nonetheless, they have overcome numerous hurdles since their last bye. Those hurdles include beating an FBS opponent, beating a Power Five opponent, beating an SEC opponent, beating a team with a winning record and beating a team on the road. They did the first three in one game.

Where do they stand right now, though? As we usually do with our stock report, we’ll break things down based on which ones are up and down and which ones we project to rise and fall in the future. The stocks can be anything, from individuals to positions groups to coaches. But we’ll separate our analysis of the different stocks into four separate slides, as usual.

After all, the value of individual components of the team make up the overall outlook of it. So how are they looking right now? Let’s break that down. This is our stock report for Tennessee football heading into its second bye week and following Week 11 of the 2019 season.
