Tennessee football RB Tim Jordan arrested
Running back Tim Jordan of the Tennessee football Volunteers was arrested in Florida.
Tim Jordan was arrested in Lakeland, Fla. just north of his hometown of Bartow, Fla. shortly before 5 a.m. Saturday. A rising senior with Tennessee football, Jordan faces gun and drug charges, according to Travis Dorman of the Knoxville News Sentinal vis USA TODAY.
Jordan was arrested after a traffic stop and taken to the Polk County Jail. He was carrying a concealed weapon without a permit and had over nine grams of marijuana. While he was driving, a 17-year-old was in the passenger’s seat.
Heading into this season, Jordan was set to be one of Tennessee football’s key running backs once again. While Eric Gray and Ty Chandler were the elite playmaking starters, Jordan was the reliable back who could always come through when needed.

In 2019, Jordan ran for over 420 yards with a touchdown. He had the key reception for a third down conversion that helped secure the Vols’ win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The year before, he rushed for 522 yards and three touchdowns while catching 12 passes for 116 yards.
Over each of the past two years, Jordan has appeared in 12 games, and he started in four games last year. He had 17 carries for 94 yards at the Alabama Crimson Tide last year and rushed for 118 yards in his first start, Jeremy Pruitt’s first game and the Vols’ season-opener against the West Virginia Mountaineers in 2018.
Simply put, Jordan was always a key player in the rotation for Tennessee football. With Jeremy Pruitt wanting to go four-deep at the position, it was likely that Jordan, Chandler, Gray and Carlin Fils-Aime, whose redshirt has been lifted, would all see valuable action next year.

Now, though, Jordan’s status is up in the air. His concealed carry charges, according to Dorman, could end up being a felony and result in up to five years in prison. That is obviously a disastrous situation for him personally.
