3. Jalen Hurd Will Make All-SEC
On the surface, this does not seem like an incredibly bold prediction. But when you look a bit deeper and realize how loaded the running back situation in the SEC is, then it definitely is bold.

Hurd did not garner Preseason All-SEC recognition due to the amount of superstar running backs in the conference, starting with Leonard Fournette at LSU. Fournette has drawn Adrian Peterson comparisons, is a Heisman candidate, and has not even shown his best yet.
Then you have Nick Chubb at Georgia who filled in for Todd Gurley last year and all of a sudden looked like the better back. We could have Herschel Walker Part II in him.
Alabama has Derrick Henry and Kenyon Drake running behind an offensive line with tons of talent, and despite losing Jonathan Williams, Arkansas still has Alex Collins, who will simply rack up more yards this year shouldering a heavy load.
But despite all of these players, Hurd will get the All-SEC recognition that he deserves this year. He has the most unique and advantageous size you could have for a running back and never lost any speed either. He is also a great running back catching balls out in the flats, and he will be awesome in short-yardage situations.
There is no weakness in this kid’s game.
Alvin Kamara will be the big-play guy, and we will love watching him, but Hurd is going to be the superstar of the offense. And by the end of the year, he’ll earn his recognition.
