1. Tennessee Will be in the SEC East Race in November
This has not happened since 2007, when the Vols last won the SEC East, but they will be in the race to win the division in November this year. That does not mean they will beat Georgia and Alabama, but it does mean that they will still have a chance to win the East even if they lose both games when that month rolls around.

The Vols have enough talent to score major victories against good teams this year and will actually be favored at home against Arkansas and South Carolina and on the road against Florida. Add in Vanderbilt and Kentucky, and they will be favored in at least five SEC games this year.
The other three, Georgia, Missouri, and Alabama, are definitely winnable, especially the first two.
And Missouri is in November anyway just before Vanderbilt, so at worst the Vols will be 4-2 going into that game, meaning they will very much be in the division race unless Georgia is undefeated.
And who on Earth expects that from a Mark Richt-coached team?
This is all hopefully part of the process of resurrecting the Tennessee Vols. Being in the SEC East race late in the year at least means a resurgence, and you can bet the boys in Knoxville are thinking much bigger.
But that is a floor for them this year, and they will definitely have a chance to win the division when Nov. 1 rolls around.
