And Sutton did his job shutting down the North Texas Mean green passing game all day. He literally shut down one side of the field as the defense only gave up 107 yards through the air despite the fact that DeMarcus Smith is a mobile quarterback who threw 25 times and bought himself lots of time to throw.

However, Sutton was never beat all day on the outside, which is usually the case, so we have to show this cornerback some love. His tackle was also on a play in which the Vols had soft coverage and he closed in quickly to prevent that first down.

And Sutton also had a nice 22-yard punt return that the Vols unfortunately could not capitalize on thanks to a Joshua Dobbs interception. Still, he had two returns for 28 yards, which is at least one nice stat. And nothing went toward him on defense, which is always an amazing stat.

Cameron Sutton

Cornerback, Junior

Like Derek Barnett, Cameron Sutton is on this list despite not filling the stats sheet. He only had one tackle, a nice punt return, and nothing else.

Unlike Derek Barnett, Sutton’s name was hardly called throughout the game either. But, as we all know, that is the best thing you can ever say about a cornerback.
