  • Who doesn’t love some Lamonte Turner? He has some haters for sure but how? Remember the shot against Kentucky in Rupp Arena? Turner could start for most SEC squads; he’s that good.

He is a spark off the bench and can score in bunches. Turner scored double-digits in 18 games last season. He had a four-game span that started with Iowa State where he scored 20, 12, 17, and 16.

Turner coming off the bench works for the Vols. And, it should remain the same this season. He might even have to play a little bit of point guard with the departure of James Daniel III.

    G – Jalen Johnson, Sophomore

Last season Jalen Johnson only averaged 5.1 minutes per game. Those minutes should increase drastically as he should take on more of a significant role in the rotation this season.

It’s hard to pinpoint his best game from last season. Johnson played the most minutes (17) against Alabama. The game the Vols lost by 28 points.

In 17 minutes of action, Johnson attempted three shots and only scored two points,

The 6-foot-7 guard from Durham, NC has so much potential to help give the Vols the best one-two punch off the bench in the entire nation.
