No.2 – Grant Williams, Junior

Appeared in 35 games, 15.2 ppg

It’s hard to have a “breakout” year when you won SEC Player of the Year last season, but I don’t see why Grant Williams can’t have the same type or even better numbers this season. Williams was a huge part of the success the Vols had.

  • He surprisingly is quick on his feet and has post moves that make defenders look silly. At times he scored at will last season, and one example of that was the game in Nashville against the Vanderbilt Commodores.

Williams went crazy that game. In 33 minutes of actions, he posted 37 points on 12-of-20 shooting and added seven rebounds. Something that can’t go unnoticed was Williams was 13-of-15 from the free throw line and he a lot of clutch shots down the stretch.

There were only six games last season Williams didn’t score in double figures. He was extremely consistent which was one of the reasons he was voted SEC Player of the Year.

15.2 points per game is a lot of points however Williams is only getting better and should be able to reach that and then some. We wouldn’t be surprised if Williams averaged around 18 points per game especially if he can knock down a free throw jumper.
