5. Lou Brown is healthy; Four freshman and a junior college transfer have arrived.

Last year, Lou Brown was supposed to be a major addition for the Tennessee Lady Vols. An Australian fifth-year senior transfer from the Washington State Cougars, Brown would be a major force on the inside at 6’3″. After all, she was a true post player, averaging six and a half points a game and six rebounds a game here last year at WSU.

But an ACL tear ended her hopes of playing. Now, she’s back as a sixth-year senior, hoping to make an impact. But she’s not the only addition to this team. Brown joins a cast of four freshman who were part of the No. 9 ranked recruiting class in the nation for 2019, three of whom committed to Holly Warlick.

Five-star 6’2″ guard Jordan Horston out of Ohio is the face of the class, but this class has two 6’5″ post players and another Australian joining Brown. The post players are five-stat Tamari Key out of North Carolina and Emily Saunders out of West Virginia.

When it comes to players who committed after Kellie Harper took over, we start with  5’8″ guard Jessie Rennie out of Australia. Then there’s Jaiden McCoy, 6’3″ a redshirt junior JuCo transfer who also committed to Harper.

Which of these players will make the biggest impact first? Who will affect the roster the most? That is going to be something worth following throughout the year. Brown has the proven veteran presence, but there is a ton of potential among the young players. So keep an eye on what all of them are able to do.
