Defeated Missouri Tigers 49-14

Yes, the Georgia Bulldogs and Florida Gators each have two losses with Florida beating Georgia. However, as we said, recency has to now have some weight. UGA dominated a Mizzou team that beat the same LSU Tigers team that beat Florida just this past week. As a result, for now, the Dawgs belong ahead of the Gators in our SEC Power Rankings.

Honestly, if this Georgia offense had been there a bit earlier in the year, Kirby Smart’s team would be the one at No. 2 in these power rankings, as they would only have one loss and be heading to the SEC Championship game with a chance to make the College Football Playoff. That Florida game would go in a different direction now.

The opportunistic defense proved itself in wins over teams like Tennessee football. An offense to go along with it now makes these guys look like they could be one of the most elite teams in the nation, as they have been the past couple years.

Anyway, Georgia has nothing to play for now, as Saturday’s final regular season game for them against the Vanderbilt Commodores has now been canceled. They still have a bowl game, but a 7-2 record with no title is disappointing for them.
