Welcome to the consolation game. Both of these teams were undefeated last week and ready to prove that they were on par with the Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide. Well, they both then got blown out in embarrassing fashion. Now, they meet at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium to determine who is at least third among those four.

The No. 17 ranked Ole Miss Rebels come into this game a week ahead of Lane Kiffin returning to Rocky Top to face Tennessee football, where he coached in 2009. Kiffin still may have the best offense in the SEC, and his loss was closer than it looked, as he gambled a lot.

On the other side, the No. 13 ranked Arkansas Razorbacks are hoping their 4-0 start wasn’t fool’s gold. They were blown out by Georgia, and Sam Pittman has to rally his kids after that demoralizing loss to face a very good Ole Miss team. Pittman is still a great coach, and it’s still crazy Tennessee football could’ve had him. This is a bit of a clash of styles, so who wins?

Prediction

Either Georgia is that much better than Alabama, or Arkansas is worse than Ole Miss. I’m going with the latter. Arkansas has shut down every passing offense it’s faced, but Ole Miss has as elite of a rushing attack. They’ll take advantage there, and I actually like them to cover at home in this game. Turning this into a ground game is why it won’t hit the over, though.

Ole Miss: 31 Arkansas: 24 (Ole Miss -5.5; Under 66.5)
